Heating and Cooling Load Calculations
Over 90 percent of heating and cooling contractors DO NOT perform heating and cooling load calculations to determine the proper size condenser unit or heating system to install. Rather they use a rule of thumb and apply it to all structures based on square footage. Thus, most heating systems are 2 to 3 times larger than they need to be on average (US dept of energy) which causes the unit to cycle up too often, consume a great deal of energy and require more repairs.
We can calculate your homes heating and cooling loads to determine the proper size tonnage and SEER levels required based on a data sheet you fill out and forward back to us or relay to us over the phone. We can also perform “what if” scenarios to determine the savings and decrease in heating and cooling load needs (which would allow for a smaller HVAC unit) based on upgrades of energy efficient features such as new windows, insulated siding or additional insulation in the walls, ceiling or floor. If installed cost effectively these improvements will not only pay for themselves in a short time but provide a nice return on investment. Even older homes with no insulation can be insulated at nominal fees.
