Indoor Air Quality
One of our goals at Pinnacle is to create healthy indoor living and working environments, and nothing is more important than the air we breathe. It is a proven fact that indoor air pollution is far worse than air we breathe outside. The average American spends approximately 90% of their time indoors, so indoor air pollution poses a larger health risk than outdoor pollution. In fact, indoor air pollution levels can be two to five times (even as much as one hundred times) the levels of outdoor air pollution, even in large cities, and industrialized areas. This problem is especially prevalent in new more air tight construction.
Poor air quality leads to breathing problems such as asthma and poor health in general. Inadequate ventilation also causes additional problems from increased moisture levels which damages interior finish out materials as well as possible health conditions from mold. Excessive moisture also migrates through the walls and ceiling dampen insulation in the building envelope and causes a loss of insulation values.
These problems cannot only be resolved but create a superior living environment by installing heat exchange equipment that provides fresh outside air while keeping the buildings heat in or exterior heat out at predetermined levels of air exchange. Other measures can also be taken to remove contaminants from installing proper filtering devices, removing harsh cleaning products used in the building, using low or no VOC building and finishout materials and by limiting the use of carpets in the structure which trap dust, mites, mold and dander as well as other things.
Let us put our experience to work for you to create the ultimate living environment.
